Research 2007

Projects 2007:
In Afghanistan today there is an essential need for scientific research aimed at the collation of data and the systematic analysis of current issues, in order to inform and facilitate effective policy making. One of the three main aims of the NCPR is to conduct research using scientific methodology in an effort to address this need. The Center has thus chosen 3 research topics, one for each of its Departments – Law & Political Science, Economics, and Social Science – for study in 2007.

It is estimated that each research project cover the province of Kabul, The projects will last 6 months each, including 20 days spent doing fieldwork; employ researchers trained by NCPR’s GARF training in research methodology, and be conducted under the direct supervision of the Center’s Department Heads.
The choice of 3 research topics for 2007 by the NCPR was made following a lengthy process of consultation by the Center’s Department Heads with academics, civil society representatives and policy makers. The chosen topics are:
