This programme provided training for some 900 students, and complements the NCPR’s training in research undertaken in 2006, 2007 and 2008 known as the German–Afghan Research Forum (GARF), aimed at introducing the culture of scientific research methodology at Kabul University.

The Forum had as having 4 main objectives:

  • To introduce some 900 final year students to research methodology
  • To enable final year students to write monograph and seminars according to new research methodology criteria
  • To introduce teaching of monograph writing in Faculties
  • To produce a handout covering the main points of the course for future use

In order to achieve above mentioned objectives, the NCPR designed the program specifically for final year students, who are required to submit monographs and present seminars during their final year. It is hoped that the program can provide specific guidance on the entire research and writing process involved in the preparation of monographs and seminars.

An estimated 900 final year students have been introduced to research methodology, with spe-

cific emphasis on writing monographs and seminar presentation, in accordance with the requirements of Kabul University.
